“This is a whiskey that’s incredibly approachable,” says Spirits Network Curator Ethan Kelley. As we find ourselves in the throes of National Bourbon Heritage Month, it’s a rather a propos recommendation, especially for those who love a subtle bargain. “It has a lot of the bigger flavors you’d find in higher octane whiskeys; if you’re partial to the Cowtail or Charleston Chew flavor profile versus something more spicy, this is for you.”
Pleasant and price-right, 1792’s Small Batch Bourbon offers serious bang for your buck. Kelley is a fan of the bottle, too, as it were. “It’s nice for the price,” he notes of the usually sub-$30 price tag. What’s even more lovable about this bottle, according to Kelley, is its availability: “It’s not one of those bottles you’re going to have to hunt down for a month and a half.” For now, at least.
